Carry It On 2

For this challenge take something - a color, a technique, a genre, a franchise, an actor, or whatever - from your first icon and carry it over to use on your second icon, then take something from your second icon and carry it into your third icon, and so on, for all your entries.
You will have to create a minimum of two (2) icons to enter this time.
(You may notice, this is the same theme as challenge 14 .)
Fun fact: This challenge was popular at capicontest in 2017 and 2020.
If you would like, try to do what was suggested by the mod then, and connect something in your very last icon to your first one, for a tougher challenge.

Welcome to challenge Seventy Seven. For this round your icons must be inspired by book covers and take some elements from it. I have 6 book covers below with icons inspired by them. You may use these covers or other book covers as your inspiration but you have to attach the cover in your post in the latter case.

Create up to 5 icons.
When posting, tag it with challenge 77: book covers & your username. Ask for a username tag if you don't have one.
Post the URLs of your icons.
Fandoms can include drama, movies, animation, historical, fantasy etc. that can be considered as a period piece. Example: Bridgerton, Game of Thrones, Castlevania Nocturne, The Crown, Merlin, The Marvelous mrs. Maisel, Vinland saga, Black Butler, The Untamed etc.
All icons MUST be based on a Period Drama that is either from film or TV that meets the theme.
Icons submitted must be NEW and never posted before.
Icons MUST be 100px by 100px. Animation will only be allowed when included in a challenge.
Each fortnight a challenge post WILL be put up with a theme.

RULES/GUIDELINES:

I finally managed to send neonspider a message, and while they sadly didn't respond, now enough time has passed that we can use a challenge from somein30! Several people have suggested somein30 before, and I loved the comm as well, so it was only a matter of time. I picked my absolute favorite round from the comm - and the one that means the most work for me, meeep. Be patient with me! <3

This challenge was originally posted to somein30 in March 2021 here.

I had to change a few minor things related to the randomized sources, but wherever it said "my collection of" and that meant neonspider's collection, you'll now get something from my collections (of textures, songs, etc.). Wherever I used ~~strikethrough~~ or "ETA", those are the changes I made to the original post.

ORIGINAL RULES - for reference only

+ Create 5-20 icons for the challenge.
+ Icons must fit LJ standards (100x100px, gif/jpg/png format, 100kb or less)
+ All icons must be new and made specifically for the challenge
+ Post either a link to your icon journal post, or post the icons directly to this community (in a new post)
+ Each entry should have three example icons before the link or the LJ cut
+ If linking to your icon journal, the post must be public at least until the end of the challenge.

NEW RETRO_ICONTEST RULES - mandatory

The new theme is...
Painterly

For this challenge we can create icons that have some elements - textures, stock, brushes etc. - that are inspired by the look of traditional medium painting techniques.
You may also use digital painting techniques to add effects to your screen caps/images.
You may also make icons of paintings, book covers (paintings), etc.
You may use your own paintings to make icons, if you do not mind putting them into the icon challenge, which includes the voting.
Please do not use anyone else's fan art, or personally shared/amateur art made by others, such as art that you may find that is posted by people on their own social media accounts.
Note: I edited this post later the same day, for clarity, the challenge is still the same.
