square_table. Basically you pick your character or ship and write/create at your own pace you set your own deadline, and you can change it as you go! There are multipule tables, I just have a smutty mind. Since I've had plotbunnies in my mind for FAR TOO LONG, I've decided to have some fun.
Despite the fact that all the prompts are sexual, I actually have some more 'tame' ideas, about nuance and detail I'm looking forward to getting out.
Hopefully I'll finish mine by the end of the summer.

What is ACTA? ACTA is the Anti-Counterfeiting Trade Agreement. A new intellectual property enforcement treaty being negotiated by the United States, the European Community, Switzerland, and Japan, with Australia, the Republic of Korea, New Zealand, Mexico, Jordan, Morocco, Singapore, the United Arab Emirates, and Canada recently announcing that they will join in as well.
Why should you care about ACTA? Initial reports indicate that the treaty will have a very broad scope and will involve new tools targeting “Internet distribution and information technology.”
What is the goal of ACTA? Reportedly the goal is to create new legal standards of intellectual property enforcement, as well as increased international cooperation, an example of which would be an increase in information sharing between signatory countries’ law enforcement agencies.

a little look back
Jan. 21st, 2012 03:34 pmIt's snowing outside, it's been coming down since early this morning. But unlike most times, it's not a storm, at least not one we New Englanders consider to be a proper storm. It's sticking, it's the light and fluffy kind of snow that falls softly and gives everything a soft light coating that almost seems magical. Of course, being in a city, the purity of the white snow is lost quickly, even as it falls, it meshes with the brown dirt that has been left from boots, tires and animals.
Sitting and watching from the desk at work, I get to see a lot of people, families particularly go by and I can't help but remember being young, being a kid and wishing for a snow day. Being excited when the snow came and we got to layer up and go outside and play. It was a wonderland, forts, snowball fights, sledding, then going home, covered in snow and looking like a snow monster. Getting in the door and being told not move from the door before shedding my layers and having hot cocoa to warm up.
I know it sounds like a cheesy movie, but those days, we lived for them. That is what winter meant to me, to so many kids. And for that small time, it was like everything was perfect. Like the snow made everything, even inside the house calm, quiet, and yes, just a little magical.
But now, being an adult, it's different. I envy those children, that sense of childlike wonder, the idea that anything could happen. Snow means shoveling, it means falling on my ass on the way to work, and hurting myself. It means bringing extra shoes, even a change of clothes to wear to work.

If I had my way, Daenerys would sit on the Iron Throne, with Jon Snow by her side. Arya would sit on council/be head gaurd of the army, and Tyrion would be the Hand of the King--they'd be a wonderfully awesome badass family. Sansa would be friends with Dae, as would Arya. But Dae and Arya would tease Sansa about being such a 'lady'. Sam would also be there, as the official BFF/LOL factor to the King consort.
Also: Osha is there, she can bring Bran and Rickon and do something...in her subtle awesomeness. And the living direwolves would roam free around Kings Landing.

- First of all, I sent off the holiday cards yesterday! YAY!! I have gotten 2 thus far, frombirdienl and tracy7307! ♥ Thanks so much you guys! I love getting mail that isn't catalogs or bills!
- Second, the community for paying homage to the things that make us happy when we're down is UP! It's calledhealing_art and I've gotten one post up thus far! PLEASE COME JOIN! It's going to be going year round---because summer is some people's winter and fuck all if colds don't happen in the summer.
- Third, SHERLOCK SERIES 2 HAS AN AIR DATE! JAN 1ST! ♥

you know you AREN'T an adult when...
Nov. 22nd, 2011 12:33 pmSo I have a week off. A WEEK. At first I was like, WTF am I going to do? I mean, here's the breakdown:
Today: clean/Pondy proof my room, food shopping for dessert ingredients for Thanksgiving.
Tomorrow: CLEAN THE HOUSE MORE (we did a lot of cleaning on Saturday); finish Pondy proofing my room.
Thursday: THANKSGIVING.
Friday-Sunday: Friday I AM NOT GOING NEAR ANY SHOPPING AREA; FUCK ALL I DUNNO.
But let's be honest here, I just got hooked on another show (Lost Girl)--I'll be catching up on that instead of doing ANYTHING.
My goal is to take Pondy to Boston Common for a walk at some point. Weather will determine when.
I'm gonna be so broke for 2 weeks! :(
Today: clean/Pondy proof my room, food shopping for dessert ingredients for Thanksgiving.
